A Bit about my Background.
My mother told me that my first joys were singing and dancing to the little golden records she bought for me. She enrolled me in dance class, found an old upright piano in a friend's basement, convinced my father to gather friends to bring the piano to our home, lovingly refinished the worn piano cabinet, then signed me up for piano lessons at the beginning of second grade. I've been playing ever since.
My Story
In high school I babysat my teacher's children in exchange for private piano and flute lessons. Soon I was teaching piano lessons at that old upright and later at the piano my parent's purchased when my path to studying music in college was clear. Both the high school choir and band earned top awards at the local & state levels, which provided an excellent foundation of playing, singing, teaching & conducting.

Earning a Bachelor's of Music Education - vocal and instrumental, K-12 from Miami University, I began teaching music in schools along with private piano & flute lessons. Realizing a need for more pedagogical understanding, I have become a lifelong student of pedagogy extensively studying Orff-Schulwerk, Suzuki Piano, Folk Dancing for Classroom & Community, Waldorf Education, Homeschooling & Child-Led Learning, Threshold Singing, and most recently the Snowman's Dream Piano Method.
